Scam emails – how to reduce the risk

Some recent scam emails pretend to come from HMRC and suggest that you are either entitled to a refund or you are overdue to make a payment. If you are a client of ad+ Chartered Accountants please contact us if you have any concerns about an HMRC email you have received.

We encourage you to follow the advice issued by the National Cyber Security Centre in their new booklet The Cyber Threat to UK Business. The summary on ‘Fighting back: what can business do?’ is very useful.

Perhaps this would be a good time to review your cyber security arrangements with your IT supplier.
